Aston Martin, Gaydon site showroom
The Problem
In 2010 Aston Martin built a micro factory adjacent to their main factory in Gaydon where they were building a new model car – the ONE-77.
Aston Martin approached SPIN-IT as they wanted to install a car turntable in a workshop cell located at the end of the build-up process.
The Solution
SPIN-IT installed a standard 5m aluminium steel plate top turntable complete with remote control. Aston Martin requested that the turntable was fitted flush to the concrete floor to avoid damage to the underside of vehicles. The flooring was painted in a specific RAL colour to match the rest of the floor area. SPIN-IT worked closely with the main contractor to oversee the preparation of the required groundworks. When the groundworks were prepared SPIN-IT installed and commissioned the turntable enabling the main contractor to complete the build.
The Benefit
The turntable enables the engineers to thoroughly check the new model car from all sides and angles.
